What We Believe 2017-09-12T00:41:03+00:00

The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the Holy and infallible Word of God inspired by God’s Spirit and contains no error. It is truth provided for the believer as a tool to know the heart of God. It reveals the plan, purposes, and will of God for all time. It is the supreme and final authority in doctrine and practice. The Trinity
We believe in one God, existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There is one and only one living and true God. To Him, we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.

God the Father
We believe God as Father is the Giver and Sustainer of life, the seen and unseen. He is all-loving, all-just, all-wise and all-powerful. He is the true God and the One who judges righteously and tests the heart and mind.

God the Son
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary. God as Son is the perfect representation for the Father in human form. He is fully human and fully divine. He is equal with God the Father but humbled himself by taking on the form of a servant and became obedient to a death on a cross. Christ led a sinless life. He knew that only through the shedding of His blood would the sinless Lamb of God be able to secure forgiveness and remission of sins. He arose on the third day following his death as He declared and now lives and reigns with the Father in glory awaiting His final triumphant return. He lives in all believers as the living, ever-present Lord.

The Holy Spirit
We believe God is the Holy Spirit who indwells guides, instructs, fills, comforts and empowers the believer for godly living. We believe the Holy Spirit baptizes each believing person into the body of Christ at the moment of salvation and that there is no second baptism of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God for all humanity and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. It was obtained by the substitutionary death of Christ on the cross. He shed His own blood for our sin that we might be rightly related to God. There is only one way to be saved and to enter heaven, and that is by calling on the name of Christ and accepting Him as Savior. We believe that everyone who is born again through Jesus Christ is eternally assured of salvation from the moment of conversion.

We believe all men are lost and face the righteous judgment of God and need to receive Jesus Christ in their heart by faith and repentance through His shed blood upon the cross. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and eternal life. When one becomes a believer, he is free from sin’s penalty of death but not from sin’s power. A battle rages within the believer between the carnal and spiritual natures. When the believer confesses sin, Christ forgives and cleanses from sin. Sinning grieves the Holy Spirit and hinders a believer’s relationship with God. Therefore, we believe in holy Christian living as provided through the application and obedience to Scripture.
